Join Lara Tilbrook to hear how caring for Country has become the foundation of her arts practice. The workshop will become a story sharing circle, weaving connection between participants whilst crafting with natural treasures and salvaged blankets dyed with native flora cleared from the bush. All materials will be provided.
Lara’s Story Telling and Crafting Workshop will be held in the Coral Street Art Space.You will also experience the work she has created for the exhibition Solastalgia - loss and return.
Workshop fee is $10, payable on the door.
Solastalgia - loss and return is comprised of 30 multi-disciplinary observances which reflect upon loss and time; how it fractures, folds and heals, broadening our kinship with the landscape and each other. Artists are from Karta Pintingga (Kangaroo Island), Kaurna (Adelaide City), Peramangk (Adelaide Hills) and Ngarrindjeri Country (South Coast).

Solastalgia’s activities take place on Aboriginal lands and participants acknowledge and pay respect to Kaurna, Narungga, Peramangk, Ngarrindjeri, Ramindjeri and Boandik Nations and their Elders past, present and emerging as the custodians of the cultural heritage and ecological knowledge bound to the regions that nourish us all.
