Expression, Imagination, Impression

Presented by Michael Masters, Lorene Steele and Althea Holmes.

Each of these artists has a distinct body of work which clearly defines their style and their personal approach to creating visual art.

The theme of this exhibition informs a collection of their recent work on canvas and board, along with installations involving tactile elements. These installations will engage and educate about coastal and land care, which includes children and families producing their own visual work at the exhibition.

While they each work with different materials or in different techniques, collectively they are inspired by the beauty, culture, and history of this area where they live.

Curiosity and imagination are powerful dynamics at the heart of our ability to create. Visitors to their exhibition may simply enjoy the visual impressions of our environment, or may be stimulated to explore in a more imaginative, creative or joyful manner. They will have the opportunity to engage with the artists in discussion, and to observe art in progress which will be demonstrated during the exhibition.

As artists they challenge visitors to consider the potential impact of climate change and environmental issues on the areas they depict.

They are fortunate through links with artists, art groups, and galleries, to be involved with the flourishing artistic community that this unique Fleurieu region inspires, encourages, and promotes.
