The Drawing on Country program supports free outdoor art workshops that allow community members to interpret their local landscape in various locations across the state.

In 2019 Country Arts SA generously supported Victor Harbor to host Drawing on Country on Granite Island. People of all ages and abilities were encouraged to bring drawing or painting equipment, cameras or tablets and join a group of like minded community members, each creating their own perspective of the natural environment around them. Hamish McMillian coordinated this day and demonstrated outdoor arts processes and techniques, with a focus on pen and ink. 17 local artists exhibited in the Drawing on Country - Granite Island SALA Exhibition.
